Powderdrop is created by Penn in Mukilteo Washington. He is a former skier of 15 years and due to a knee injury and his love of board sports, he is now a snowboarder who loves powder. Now that Penn has two children, he needs to know when the best day for finding powder will be and he needs to know this about a week out so he can rally friends to share the pow.

He began forecasting for himself using forecast images provided by the Northwest Modeling Consortium and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington, but found the process to be difficult and tedious. Penn has now added some automation to the process and is passing the results on to you!
